In mid-November 2023, I traveled to Argentina to see the beautiful landscapes of Patagonia. Since then, I’ve been going on shorter and longer hikes there. I hike in different areas of Patagonia and am on the move in both Argentina and Chile.
I have summarized some of my hikes below to give you a better overview of my larger tours.
As I’m still on the road at the moment, I’m sure I’ll add a few more tours 😉
Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre
The two mountains Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre are certainly the most famous peaks in Patagonia. I took a closer look at these imposing mountains on easy hikes around El Chalten.

O-Circuit
The O-Circuit in Torres del Paine National Park is probably one of the best-known trekking tours in Patagonia alongside the smaller W-Trek. In 2023, I completed this fantastic hike together with my sister. During the 8 days in the national park, we were able to enjoy the different landscapes in good weather.

Huemul-Circuit
The Huemul Circuit in Los Glaciares National Park near El Chalten is certainly one of the more challenging tours in Patagonia. There is a lot to marvel at over the 5 days, and the ice at various points on the tour is particularly memorable. In addition to two zip lines for river crossings, there is a pass to cross and you get to walk on a glacier. When I was there, there was still quite a lot of snow and the sometimes cloudy weather made it a real adventure.

Sierra Valdivieso Circuit
On the Sierra Valdivieso Circuit near Ushuaia, trekking enthusiasts get to see the wild landscapes of Patagonia. The trail, which is poorly marked in places, takes you over small passes through the untouched region. There are hardly any people around and the remoteness makes the hike a real experience.

Cerro Vallecitos (My first 5000m)
In Mendoza, which is actually no longer part of Patagonia, I climbed my first 5000m peak, Cerro Vallecitos. Unfortunately, since I didn’t have much time for proper acclimatization, I had to climb the 5,475 meter high mountain within 3 days and had to climb over 3,000 meters in altitude. Fortunately, in the end I was able to enjoy the impressive view from the summit and celebrate my first 5000m.

Weitere Wanderungen
In addition to the multi-day hikes mentioned above, I have also completed a number of one- or two-day hikes. In addition to very easy and sometimes touristy hikes, there were also a few more challenging hikes. I have listed some of the tours below and linked to the blog entries:
